The services of HS Sole Trustees are led by Ray Martin who has over 25 years Trustee experience. Following a career in corporate pensions management spanning forty years, working for blue chip multinational companies such as Diageo, AstraZeneca, DHL and Natwest Banking Group, he is now acting as an independent trustee to pension arrangements in both the public and private sector.
Ray was one of the first Accredited Professional Trustees in the UK. He is a Fellow of the Pensions Management Institute (FPMI) and has qualified as an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII). He is a member of the Association of Professional Pension Trustees and spent 17 years on the Board of the National Association of Pension Funds (now the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association), as well as, four years on the Council of the Pensions Management Institute. In 2013, he was voted Pensions Personality of the Year by the Professional Pensions magazine and, in the same year, was also named Pension Manager of the Year by Engaged Investor Magazine.
Ray is an Independent Chairman of Trustees for two UK pension schemes and one Irish pension scheme as well as a Trustee of two others and Vice-Chair of the Scottish Teachers Superannuation Scheme Pensions Board.
Ray is married and has four grown-up children. Having lived and worked in Brussels, Toulouse and Geneva during his career he is a fluent French speaker. Ray lives close to Edinburgh Airport in West Lothian, Scotland.
Peter has over 30 years pensions experience and is a Fellow of the Pensions Management Institute (FPMI).
Peter has worked in the third-party administration sector for over 30 years and is currently Head of Pensions Administration at HS Admin which includes providing trustees services for HS Sole Trustees. He has held this position for 20 years and is responsible for providing support services to Trustees and managing the day-to-day administration delivery on both DB and DC pension arrangements of varying sizes and from a wide range of industry sectors.
Peter also brings with him immense experience in Secretarial services including the writing and agreeing Agenda’s, Scheme returns and minutes.

Steve has over 36 years’ experience in the pensions industry and joined Goddard Perry in 1993 when the organisation was known as Michael Kirk & Partners Ltd. Steve previously worked for Scottish Equitable (now Aegon), Scottish Life (Now Royal London) and Hill Samuel. Steve is the CEO of Goddard Perry and is also the Chairman of HS Administrative Services Ltd. Steve has been instrumental in the growth of the Group via both organic development and a number of acquisitions. Steve’s knowledge extends to all services related to DB & DC schemes and has developed a number of solutions for the Pension Protection Fund (PPF), Corporate sponsors and Trustees. Steve was a founder of the Salvus Master Trust (now Cushon) and has produced a number of press articles for the Master Trust community in general.
A very experienced global pension and benefits executive and Trustee with c40 years of pension industry knowledge and understanding covering the telecommunications, pharmaceutical, insurance, banking and manufacturing sectors. Expert in all aspects of pension scheme operations from both Trustee and sponsor perspective with particular emphasis on pension strategy, governance, de-risking and liability management, design, administration and management of both large and small pension schemes (DB, DC, CARE, CDC and hybrid) both in the UK and overseas. Lead on M&A activities for HR including due diligence, integration and disposals.
Expert in pension strategy and design, governance, pension administration and risk management along with great stakeholder management skills and with a focus on customer service. High level of pension knowledge in legal and regulatory framework, finance and investment. Deep understanding of needs of Trustees and sponsors as well as scheme members. Have been at the heart of leading successful pension change both in the UK and overseas. Responsible for member communications and education on pension and related matters.
Adrian is a manager with extensive experience of all types of pension schemes as well as outsourced pension services from the perspective of employer, trustee and scheme member, gained during a career covering most aspects of UK benefits provision. He maintains his technical knowledge in the face of ever increasing legislative change and can manage providers, undertake reviews and support strategic development and delivery. He sees today's challenges as an opportunity for dynamic enterprise, seeking out innovative, creative solutions to drive continuous improvement alongside value for money, to meet the needs and expectations of all stakeholders.
He is also a Professional Trustee (PTPMI (Accred) accredited by the Pensions Management Institute.
Jackie has over 35 years’ experience both in corporate pensions management both in house pension schemes and as a consultant working with large UK companies and companies with USA parents. Jackie is a Fellow of the Pensions Management institute (FMPI). She has completed the Pension Regulator’s Trustee tool kit and will be taking her professional Trustee qualification shortly. She undertook a significant amount of work for the Pensions Institute and became qualified some years ago to help with the qualification in pensions administration where she was an internal and external verifier assisting companies who did not have the expertise in house.
She set her own business up in 2000 to fill the gap in the market place of good quality Professionals. She has provided secretarial services to Trustees, project management, process mapping, strategy and communication reviews, risk control, de-risking, liability management, budget monitoring, management of third parties and works very closely with both Trustees, Corporate Trustee boards and Sole Independent Trustees.
